The skill of mental computation is a handy, applicable asset which helps students move away from the mechanical, rote method of solving problems. Instead, students learn the principles behind mathematics, understand around 26 new ways to think about the number system and number relationships and as a result find it easier to understand a question and solve it.

Mental calculation lays the foundation for development of higher level thinking skills for students who can acquire these learning at an early age.

This simple method of learning is imparted to students by the use of abacus technology wherein, basic mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are solved by simple movement of beads in this instrument.

This helps the student to develop a pictorial representation of the problem in the brain and by regular practice, the brain learns to solve the problem without actual use of any aid including the abacus. The students thereby develop an exciting photographic memory.
